The backstreet of a pub on Toowoomba’s main street has been cordoned off as fire crews investigate a gas leak.

Emergency crews were called to the Spotted Cow on Ruthven and Campbell St in the Toowoomba CBD at around 11am on Wednesday after reports of a possible gas leak from the cold room, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said.

Three fire crews were on scene and had accessed the back of the Spotted Cow from the corner of Campbell and Ann Street as they investigated the cause and substance of the leak, he said.

No one had been evacuated, he said.

No patients had been assessed by paramedics, who remained on scene for the fire crews, a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said.

After conducting atmospheric testing the crews gave the all clear at 12.20pm and left the issue in the hands of the business owner, a QFES spokesman said.
