What’s on this weekend in Toowoomba: 25-26 October

From Witches Markets to spring fairs and massive Oktoberfest celebrations, there is something for everyone happening this Saturday and Sunday. Here’s your guide to the weekend.

Whether you’re a fan of the macabre and spooky or a motor-head with a love for burgers and arcade games, there's something for everyone this weekend in the Darling Downs. Check out all the action for this coming weekend.

1. Witches Market

The annual Witches Market is back this Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Come on down and check out Gothic Gems Crystals, Starry Night Tarot, Mandarah and Deceased Decore, Black Cats available for adoption and the exciting witches walk.

Come down to the Heller Street Park to catch all of the spooky fun.

2. Phat Laps

The Phat Burgers team is hosting Phat Laps this Saturday, a car meet where motor-heads can take their cars to the street and complete laps of Ruthven and Margaret streets from 4pm before pulling up in Annand St for a car meet.

As part of the celebrations the team will be cooking their iconic burgers until 9pm at local arcade bar Flipp’d. Come on down to the Phat Laps event and celebration with classic burgers, arcade action, and car culture. For more details visit the Flipp’d Facebook page.

3. Clifton Country Week Festival

Clifton Country Week Festival is on this week. Celebrate the town’s vibrant community with plenty of activities for all ages. Wander through markets, travel back in time on a heritage train trip, visit a local art gallery, and more.

The event is on all Saturday at various locations around Clifton.

4. Spring Fairs

Multiple schools will host their spring fairs this weekend.

Join St Saviour’s Primary School for their Spring Fair – a fantastic afternoon of fun for the whole family. There’ll be activities, food, entertainment, and plenty of community spirit. St Saviour’s Primary School Saturday from 12pm – 4pm.

Meanwhile, the Fairholme College Spring Fair runs from 10am – 3pm at the school grounds.

There will be market stalls, delicious treats, entertainment, petting zoo and a fashion parade.

5. Oktoberfest celebrations

Oktoberfest will be in full flight across Toowoomba and the wider region this weekend.

Concordia Lutheran College will host its German-themed event for another year on Saturday from 4 – 8pm on the college grounds.

In addition to delicious German cuisine, attendees can expect live music, dancing, strongman competitions and heaps more.

Further north, the Clock and Bull Brewhouse in Cabarlah will celebrate Oktoberfest from 12 – 5pm on Saturday, where you can also expect plenty of traditional German fare.

Entry to the Concordia event is $15 for adults and $5 for children.

You can make a reservation at the Clock and Bull for free.

6. Crows Nest Bush Dance Dinner

Experience the charm of Queensland’s best country town and immerse yourself in its community spirit. With plenty of activities, games, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, this evening promises to be unforgettable.

Gates open from 5pm on Saturday at the Crows Nest Showgrounds.

7. Clifton Races

One of the biggest country race days of the year is here and you don’t want to miss it. Experience the town of Clifton come alive with community spirit, fierce competition, and vibrant colours. Clifton Racecourse gates open 11am on Saturday. Tickets at the gates – $15 per person.

8. Halloween at Glengallan

Face your fears at the ultimate haunted house experience at the historic Glengallan Homestead.

Known for paranormal activity, this home built in the 1800s has been brought back from the brink of ruin and holds many lifetimes of memories stored in the walls.

The haunted house experience is on Sunday from 7pm to 8pm, with kids tickets $5 and adults $15. Parental guidance recommended for under 18s, and essential for under 14s.

9. Disability Dance Party

You’re Invited to the Halloween Disability Dance Party. Come dressed in your spookiest, silliest or sparkliest costume and join us for a night full of music, laughter and community fun.

The party is from 5pm – 8pm at the Lutheran Redeemer Hall, Annand St, $15 entry includes sausage sizzle and drink and carers enter for free.

10. Spring Sounds

Coming from their recent win of best band in the Carnival of Flowers’ Grand Central Floral Parade, Toowoomba Municipal Brass Band and popular vocal group The Accidentals will be performing a Spring Sounds Concert at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Neil St, on Sunday starting at 2pm.

The band’s program will include a medley of the Beatles’ later songs and a variety of other choices. The Accidentals continue to sing a wide selection of styles. Adults $20, free for 12 and under.
