Toowoomba’s entertainment scene explodes with comedy superstars, vintage trains and twilight festivities in a blockbuster weekend line-up.

1. Catch a Comedy Show

Toowoomba is set to come alive with laughter this weekend with multiple comedians set to take the stage.

  • See the hilarious Akmal Saleh delve into hot topics in his funny and slightly offensive way at The Empire Theatre on Saturday. Get your last-minute tickets here.
  • Comedian Daniel Muggleton is set to showcase his “I May be White, I May be Crazy” show at The Irish on Sunday at 7pm. Get your tickets here.

2. Country Christmas Market

Embrace the festive spirit this weekend at the Country Hearts Christmas Market with a wide array of local crafts, gifts and food, held in the Glenvale Pavillion at the Toowoomba Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-3pm. Gold coin entry required.

3. Toowoomba Tourer – Super Saturday

Journey back in time with a steam train tour running from the Toowoomba Railway Station to Drayton. Passengers can relax aboard beautifully restored carriages and enjoy the rhythmical chug of the steam engine. This family-friendly event runs on Saturday, November 15, with tickets available here.

4. Wizard of Oz dance concert

Join the Bluerhythmix Dance Studio for their “Wizard of Oz” inspired performance at the Highfields Cultural Centre on Sunday, November 16 at 2pm. Tickets available here.

5. UFO Diecast & Collectables Pop Up Stall

Head on down to Toowoomba Plaza on Saturday, November 15 where you’ll find a unique collection of Hot Wheels Premiums, Basics Pokémon Cards, OzWheels, Custom 1:64 Diecast Dioramas and much more. The stall is open from 9am-4pm.

6. International Legends of League

Take a trip out to Oakey for an unmissable sporting event with rugby league greats set to take on the Indigenous All-Stars team at Oakey Bears Rugby League on Saturday, November 15 in a bid to raise awareness of Domestic and Family Violence. Tickets available at the gate.

7. Tales from the Toombstones

Curious about the lives and deaths of those laid to rest at Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery? Join Cemetery Tours two-hour walking tour bringing the region’s history to life on Saturday, November 15 from 3pm-5pm.

8. Meet the Artist

  • Head to the Rosalie Gallery in Goombungee for a “Meet the Artist” event for the Eclectic Harmony exhibition. This is a great, free opportunity to speak with the creators and learn about their artistic practice. The event is on Saturday, November 15, starting at 11am.
  • On Sunday, you can attend another free “Meet the Artist” event, this time at the Crows Nest Gallery. Come and see the Abstract Blooms exhibition and chat with the artist, Sam Walton. This event runs from 11am-1pm on Sunday, November 16.

9. Sunset Session at Rosalie House

There’s nothing more spectacular than watching the sun set over the Lilyvale Valley, nestled among the vines at Rosalie House.

Warm up by the campfire, enjoy music, and indulge in a delicious gourmet tapas or share plate. And of course, a glass of wine in hand. Bring along the whole family to experience an unforgettable evening.

The winery is open all weekend, with the Sunset Sessions running from 3-6pm.

10. KISSpierence

Prepare for a night of rock and roll at the City Golf Club on Saturday, November 15, with a performance from Queensland’s hottest KISS tribute band. The show starts at 8pm, with tickets available online or via reception.
