1. Travelling Film Festival

The Sydney Film Festival’s Travelling Film Festival is in Toowoomba all weekend, bringing the best in international and independent cinema to the region.

The program includes eight acclaimed films, from Oscar contenders to Cannes prizewinners, such as the uplifting “DJ Ahmet” and the Palme d’Or winner “It Was Just an Accident.”

Time: All weekend, with various screening times on Saturday and Sunday.

Price: Tickets are available for single sessions, or you can buy a subscription pass.

2. Dance Central Junior: Night At The Museum

Step inside the Empire Theatre for a magical, fun-filled journey where history and art come to life through music and dance. This 75-minute show follows what happens when the doors close, the lights dim, and the museum awakens.

Time: Saturday, 10am and 2pm.

Price: Tickets are $42.95 for adults and $20 for children under 16.

3. Moo and Brew

Take a short drive to The Bun Hotel in Kaimkillenbun for the fourth annual Moo & Brew event. Enjoy a day featuring numerous breweries, food stalls from local cattle producers, and live music acts.

Time: Saturday, 11am-10pm.

4. Bloom in Bottles Workshop

Join artist Victoria Beths for a creative session at Tinker. This is a BYO event, so you can bring your favourite drink and snacks while you paint your own “Bloom in Bottles” masterpiece.

Time: Saturday, 10am.

5. Copperfoiling Glass Art Workshop

Join a seasoned artisan at the Cobb+Co Museum for a two-day workshop. You will learn the copperfoil technique, similar to leadlighting, to design and create your own beautiful glass suncatcher.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 9am-4pm both days.

Price: $425 for the two-day workshop.

6. Best Years of our Lives

Celebrate ‘80s Australian pub rock at the Wilsonton Hotel. This concert features the classic hits that defined a generation of Australian music.

Time: Saturday, 8pm.

7. Sunflower Fields

Take a short drive out to Lilyvale Flower Farm this weekend for the chance to capture their dazzling sunflower fields.

Time: Saturday and Sunday, 9am-6pm

Tickets: $15 adults, $5 child and $40 family available for purchase at the gate.

8. Toowoomba to Warwick Heritage Train Ride

Spend a full day exploring the region on a heritage train. This 10-hour return journey travels from Toowoomba to Warwick, where you will have lunch at the station and be given a museum tour before returning to Toowoomba in the evening.

Time: Saturday, 8am.

Price: $220 for adults and $130 for children.

9. Paranormal Investigation at Highfields

If you’re looking for something spooky, you can join a team of paranormal investigators at the Highfields Pioneer Village. This is a special after-dark event where you can see how investigators use their equipment to explore the highly active and historic site.
