Warung Ita
Indonesian
Step inside to find rows of white laminex tables and a bain-marie tucked in one corner where you'll be greeted by a group of smiling veiled ladies of indeterminate age. It's a halal eatery, so there's no pork or alcohol and, incidentally, no Pepsi or Coke either. Ordering is simple; choose three dishes from the bain-marie, served with rice. The 'hot' beef rendang is thicker and richer than the regular version, but not all that spicy; fried chilli chicken is low on meat but good for gnawing; eggplant, lightly fried and still squishy, is delicious with a topping of garlic-laced red sambal.
