Sun’s Burmese Kitchen
Asian
Authentic Burmese cuisine is the focus of this family-run business, and if the modest decor doesn’t grab your attention, the punchy flavours, generous serves and rock-bottom prices will. Start with crunchy onion and whole prawn fritters with a tamarind-tangy dipping sauce. Next, chicken danbauk, Burma’s answer to biryani, is a massive helping of rice and chicken, with showstopper-sides including a feisty salad of cucumber, pineapple, onion, chilli and lime. The Burmese classic lahpet thote, a salad of preserved tea leaves, garlic, nuts, sesame seeds and more, is potent.
