Royal Hotel Richmond

The glass ceiling of the light-filled dining room gives a cathedral-like feeling to this family-friendly, squeaky-clean space: perhaps that's why the chefs are singing in the kitchen. And this happy attitude shows in their food. There are the usual pub offerings (burgers to bolognese, steaks and schnitzels, bangers and mash), but daily specials see the chef getting a little bit more creative. The mains are generous portions and reasonably priced. Bought-in cakes provide a luscious finish for those in need of a chocolate fix. It's all good tucker served with big smiles. The bar staff are super friendly, too.
