Pho Tau Bay
Vietnamese
Cabramatta is Sydney’s shortcut to South-East Asia, alive with the scenes, sounds and smells of Vietnam especially. The tastes are authentically covered, too, as found at this pokey eatery crammed full of pho aficionados. The beef noodle soup here has a reputation for being among the best in town, so keeping up with demand can be a hard task. Go for pho dac biet (effectively, ‘the works’) - a small serve will satisfy most - and add basil, bean sprouts, lemon and chilli sauce to taste. There’s also pho ga, chicken soup, but for the ultimate hangover cure, finish with an iced coffee with condensed milk.
