Polish$$
The name is the most challenging thing about this Glebe stalwart (Poles say it to drink to good health). Fashioned to look like a central-European inn - exposed brick, wooden beams and touches of folk-art - it’s a cosy setting for a hearty meal. Plates of pierogi (dumplings) or traditional soups make great starters, or test the arteries with a pot of smalec: a rich spread of lard and crackling with rye bread. The mains are equally robust, and some strain the budget, from the hunter’s stew laden with various smoked meats, to succulent roast duck with spiced cabbage. Try crumbly Polish-style cheesecake to end.
