Contemporary

This just-off-the-beaten track little gem has always taken its coffee seriously, which is why so many of Potts Point's beautiful people grab their coffee fix in its teeny-tiny space. But Mario Szucs and Josh Folden continue to play with what a neighbourhood cafe can be, installing a coffee window to the street and a share table and warm copper lamps inside. What was Toby's Estate coffee is now their own Gypsy Espresso blend, smooth and skilfully made in a dreamy piccolo ($3.50). The small food selection is deceptive, with colourful, fresh, planked-up offerings from the blackboard menu conjured up as if out of nowhere.
