Coffee Lane
Contemporary
If only all laneways were like this - painted chocolate brown, with a roller door that comes up to reveal a cafe-on-wheels, right down to the raspberry and white chocolate muffins. The Tiempo seasonal blend ($3.50) is hazelnut and nutmeg up front, with a lengthy, oil-rich aftertaste. Match it to a bacon and egg roll or raisin toast, pull up a stool and have a chat to the locals. They must like their coffee around Cromer way - we haven't seen too many other jumbo size ($5) coffees in our travels. Oh, and Coffee Lane no longer closes at the hideously early hour of 12 noon during the week - they're now open (woohoo!) until 1pm.
