Moroccan Soup Bar
Vegetarian/Vegan
Could this be Melbourne’s oldest form-an-orderly-queue-please venue? In 16 years, this charmingly boho spot, with its mismatched kitchen chairs and orange lantern-lined walls, hasn’t missed a beat. The all-veg menu is a verbal exchange and most choose the $20-a-head banquet, a selection of traditional dips, soups and stews. Standouts include stewed potato, carrot and zucchini with cous cous, and a legendary ‘bake’ of chickpeas in yoghurt with torn pita and buttery almonds. There’s plenty of banquet for your buck - you also get mint tea (no alcohol here), sweets and coffee. Good for your wallet, good for your soul.
