Glenlyon General Store
Contemporary$$
This grand general store, with its handsome wide eaves and views over Glenlyon’s only intersection, is the town (and visitor) meeting point. Friday nights are legendary, particularly in fine weather, with live bands and happy-hour revellers taking over the atmospheric pebbled courtyard. Tender ossobuco and chunky pork and apple sausages with mash feed the hungry in winter, while a tasting plate of Holy Goat cheese, house-made chicken liver parfait and roasted local garlic fits the bill all year round. The burger, with Istra bacon, mayo, salad and a fried free-range egg, is the standout.
