Famili Ria
Indonesian
South Sumatrans might lick their lips over Famili Ria’s speciality: fishcakes that offer a taste of home. Tradition from that region of the Indonesian island is honoured by the daily production of up to 300 fishcakes (pempek) of various shapes, using Spanish mackerel and tapioca flour. Fillings include tofu and egg and they’re served with noodles and spicy condiments. Aside from pempek, there’s a small range of tasty dishes, the pick of which is spicy charcoal-grilled marinated chicken. It’s super cheap and super casual – we’re talking melamine plates and plastic sauce bottles. But don’t eat and run … you might catch MasterChef Indonesia on the wall TV.
