Shanghai Night
Chinese
One of the oldest kids on the 'Little Shanghai' block, this low key eatery might not be able to compete with its neighbours for flash, but the food is authentic, generous and excellent value. The xiao long bao (like mini pork buns) are tender and brimming with soup inside the delicate pastry, while the pork meatballs and bok choy are chock-full of flavour. Pan-fried pork buns are real crowd-pleasers while a selection of cold dishes encompasses traditional Shanghainese favourites, including spiced fish. Go with a group and sample all Shanghai Night has to offer, for next to nothing.
