Maggio's Cafe
Italian
Perched on the corner of this little enclave of cafes sits staunch survivor Maggio's. It's heavy on sandwich-bar aesthetic, with queues out the door at lunchtimes, but eating in under street-side umbrellas on the pedestrian patch is equally popular. Generous servings are presented simply; vegetarian frittata arrives bursting with artichoke hearts in a mini frypan, crunchy panini overflow with your choice of salami, ham or chicken and coffees are hot and quick. All-day breakfasts of free-range eggs or French toast kick-start the mornings, there's a rainbow of Bravo gelato on offer and house olive oil can be purchase to go. Run by the Maggio family since 1998, it's stuck around for good reason.
