Lazziz Cuisine
Middle Eastern$$
Lazziz means ‘delicious’ and deliciousness is served up on very big plates in an unremarkable-looking second-floor space. After whetting your appetite with a complimentary sextet of dips and pickles (torshi litteh, eggplant marinated in vinegar and herbs, is the stand-out), dive into a traditional stew such as gheimeh bademjan - lamb with yellow peas and eggplant. Skewers of charred lemon saffron chicken beat the lamb skewers hands down; both come in the momtaz combo which, like the stew, comes with fluffy white and saffron rices. Try rosewater and saffron ice-cream for dessert; a pot of tea is served as the final flourish.
