Gigi Pizzeria
Italian$$
Gigi puts its domed pizza oven right in the centre of the action - a smart move given that its Neapolitan-style pizza is what draws the masses to this high-ceilinged, slightly industrial space, even on a school night. Complementing the menu is a blackboard listing gourmet combos such as buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, artichoke and basil, or smoked salmon, mascarpone, Spanish onions, capers and rocket. A pleasant surprise is that a glass of drinkable house white is just $5 - a good alternative to raiding your own cellar. Give the evening a sweet finish with tiramisu - calorie-counters can always ask for two spoons.
