Big Kids' Burger
Fill up you kids' tummies with this great healthy burger recipe. To make this meal even better, let them help you with these beauties in the kitchen and you will be a hit as well as the burgers.
Ingredients
4 Bakers Delight Hi Fibre Lo GI Rolls
300gm Mince Beef
1 Tsp Tomato Paste
Breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 Tsp dried oregano
1 Tsp dried basil
Olive oil
1 cup of lettuce, shredded
1 beetroot, sliced
1 carrot, grated
Method
Mix the mince together with the tomato paste, oregano, basil and the egg. Add breadcrumbs, just enough to make sure the mixture is wet, but able to be shaped. Shape into small patties (the diameter should be slightly smaller than that of the bread roll).
Heat a dash of olive oil in a heavy based frypan on a low-medium heat. Cook the patties, turning once until cooked through. Slice the bread rolls in half and top with the patty, lettuce, beetroot and carrot. For an extra flavour hit, smear some mustard on the top half of the roll.
The perfect way to keep your kids' energy up to make it through each day!
