Ganesh
Indian$$
With thick velvet curtains, Indian artworks and flattering lighting, Ganesh is cosy. It stands out from the Indian restaurant crowd with its friendly staff and well-priced classics, as well as a chef who's been perfecting his craft for 30 years. Start with crunchy chickpea-flour battered onion bhaji, spiked with coriander, chilli and cumin, or flavoursome samosas or pakoras. The tandoor oven sends out garlicky chicken pieces marinated in yoghurt, while mains include lamb dhal, thick with black lentils, or chicken korma that's creamy with cashew nuts and coconut milk. Oodles of veg choices, too.
