It's back. The general store that created morning queues during lockdown last year returns to Australia's smallest three-hatted restaurant for one weekend only. Falafel pita from Kepos Street Kitchen

The Kepos deli fridge is chock-full of Mediterranean good times such as chermoula-marinated whole chicken, merguez snags and moussaka, while pita stuffed with falafel, hummus, pickled chilli and herbs ($14) is perfect for a post park-exercise lunch. Chef Loong Oon opened his 200-seat Malaysian eatery – a tribute to the homestyle cooking of his late grandmother – only three weeks ago. Fragrant fishball soup is the signature, but a lockdown menu also lists fresh mud crab from the tank ($118 a kilo) in a garlic butter sauce or black pepper curry. Lockdown in style with chestnut soup, baked mussels, duck confit, beef Bourguignon, pommes Anna and sticky prune pudding. All yours for $162 including a bottle of Les Fruits wine. It's difficult to score a seat at Yusuke Morita's omakase restaurant at the best of times, which means orders for the chef's lockdown box are filling up fast. Yookgaejang from Sang by Mabasa

Sorry minestrone, there's a new winter soup in town. Sang's hearty yookgaejang special ($21) stars spicy slow-cooked beef, bean sprouts, black fungus and taro with a side of rice. The Korean restaurant is also on hand for kimchi pancakes, bibimbap and super crunchy fried chicken. Pre-order yookgaejang through the Sang website by noon for pick-up after 5pm.
