NT POLICE are not conducting an internal investigation into a serious buggy crash on the weekend, despite it being revealed that the passenger was a police officer with the Road Policing Command.
The alleged driver of the ATV buggy, Michael Dixon, 35, faced the Darwin Local Court over the crash on Tuesday.
The court heard that the victim of the crash was Dixon’s partner and a police officer.
According to an NT Police spokesman, passenger Kristi Wenck is a member of the Darwin and Road Policing Command, which is responsible for policing traffic issues such as driving under the influence and seat belts.
The court heard the pair were riding the ATV buggy on Bees Creek Road in the early hours of Sunday morning when it went off the road and rolled several times.
Dixon had been drinking before getting behind the wheel.
Ms Wenck was seriously injured and remains in hospital.
