Van Gisbergen gives Holden three wins from three over Darwin Supercars weekend
For the second time today, Shane van Gisbergen nailed pole sitter Will Davison at the top of Hidden Valley Raceway’s enormous straight and never let the lead slip as he raced to victory to give him two wins for the weekend — and Holden three from three over Ford.

FOR the second time today, Shane van Gisbergen nailed pole sitter Will Davison at the top of Hidden Valley Raceway’s enormous straight and never let the lead slip as he raced to victory to give him two wins for the weekend — and Holden three from three over Ford.
Davison started in pole for the second time on Sunday in Darwin, but the championship race leader was too quick and took the lead at the opening turn and never looked back.

The top four at the finish was a repeat of the earlier race today, with Davison second in his Ford Mustang, Jamie Whincup third in his Holden Commodore, and Chaz Mostert one position off the podium also in a Holden Commodore.
Van Gisbergen’s lead on the Repco Supercars Championship table is now 221 points over his Triple Eight Race Engineering team-mate Whincup, with Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Mostert a further nine behind in third.

His victory also gave Holden bragging rights over rival Ford, with three wins from three over Darwin’s Triple Crown Supercars weekend, with Holden Commodore driver Mostert taking out a drama-filled first race on Saturday, edging out For Mustand driver Cameron Waters.

“Awesome,” beamed van Gisbergen.
“Again at the start, I don’t know what’s happened, I got three beauties.
“Just managed the pace and drove away when tyres were nice.
“Man, I’ve got to thank Red Bull Ampol Racing; our car wasn’t very good and we just chipped away.
“All weekend it’s been really good from the races, so just stoked, it’s awesome.”
The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Townsville 500 from July 9 to 11.
