SUPERBIKES champion Troy Herfoss has been hospitalised following a horror crash on turn 4 at Hidden Valley.
The second ASBK race of Supercars’ Darwin Triple Crown event was declared a no-race after
Herfoss crashed on the opening lap when negotiating his Honda bike through the turns three and four that lead into the hairpin at Hidden Valley.
The race was red flagged and did not restart, meaning no points were awarded.
There was immediate concern for Herfoss, who was quickly attended to by on-site medics.
An ASBK statement has provided an update on the 34-year-old’s condition.

“Herfoss is in a serious but stable condition, and he is being transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for further investigations”.
Another spokesman said it appeared Herfoss’ injuries were not life threatening, despite the seriousness of the situation.
Several Superbike fans were shocked when the two-time ASBK champion came off his bike.
“It was certainly unusual for Troy, who is one of best and most skilful riders,’’ a spokesman said.
Herfoss won Race 1 of the Darwin Superbikes weekend on Saturday in a last lap come-from-behind-win over defending series champion and this season’s points leader Wayne Maxwell.
