A PEDESTRIAN has died after being struck by a vehicle on Palmerston’s main street near the city’s bus exchange.
The man was killed after reportedly being struck by a Toyota LandCruiser at 10.50am.

Police are at the scene of the serious incident on Roystonea Ave near the Palmerston Bus Exchange.
A police officer was seen speaking to a man in the shade of a tree on the bus interchange side of the road after the accident.
An older model white Toyota Land Cruiser was pulled up in the median strip in the centre of the road about 20m on from where the body lay.

A backpack sat by itself in the middle of the Darwin-bound lanes of Roystonea Ave.
Police have marked in pink paint, the outline of where the body was.
While police have said it is yet to be established if there were any witnesses, a man in his 50s was the only member of the public along a closed-off section of footpath along the collision scene. He stood smoking on the footpath with workers.
The man on the footpath said he was the cousin of the dead man.
He said the man who died was in his 40s and from Western Australia but living in Stuart Park.
The road has been closed to traffic in both directions to allow the Major Crash Investigations Unit to investigate the fatal crash.

Traffic diversions will be in place between The Boulevard and Temple Tce while emergency crews assist and are expected to be in place for some time.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are not yet known.
