Police seek witnesses for alleged hit and run in Millner

UPDATE: A 35-YEAR-OLD woman is in hospital with serious injuries after an alleged hit and run in Millner. A 41-year-old male driver is assisting police with their investigations

UPDATE: A 35-YEAR-OLD woman is in hospital with serious injuries after an alleged hit and run in Millner.

Police received a report that a car had hit a pedestrian on McMillans Road, Milner, at about 5.40pm on Wednesday night.

Police at the crash scene said they believed a woman had been attempting to cross the road when she was hit and sustain serious head and leg injuries.

The 41-year-old male driver allegedly involved in the incident has since contacted police and attended the Darwin police station to assist police with their investigation.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit have carriage of the incident.

EARLIER: A woman has been rushed to hospital with “serious” leg injuries after being struck by a car in Millner.

NT Police and St John Ambulance crews responded to reports of a female pedestrian being hit by a car while attempting to cross the road at the corner of McMillans and Bagot Rd at about 6pm on Wednesday night.

A police spokesman said the woman had been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital in a “serious condition” and had sustained injuries to her legs.
