DARWIN mother-of-three, Andrea Groening, has been identified as one of the drivers in last week’s double-fatal car crash on Tiger Brennan Drive.

Ms Groening, 24, and a 42-year-old man both remain in a stable condition at Royal Darwin Hospital following the horrific two-vehicle collision which killed two people last week.

Ms Groening’s son Mehali Anastasios Pastrikos, 7, and Wade Williams, 21, both died in the crash, which took place on the intersection of Tiger Brennan Dr and Berrimah Rd near midnight on Wednesday.

A GoFundMe account to raise money for Mehali’s funeral has raised nearly $16,000 in quick time.

An update on the page thanked Territorians for their generosity.

“The Darwin community has raised an amazing amount of money,” it read.

“This money will be going to the family to help cover the cost of his funeral and any other expenses that may arise.”

The family of Mr Williams, who had three boys aged 4, 3, and 15 months, is also trying to fundraise to bring his body home to Tasmania to be laid to rest.

Any remaining funds will support his three sons.

The NT News understands NT Police are still investigating the crash and no charges have been laid.
