Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2022 day 4: Best celebrity looks
Controversial Sydney influencer Jade Tuncdoruk has sparked fury again – this time over a detail in her designer Fashion Week outfit.
There’s only one rule guests need to follow when attending the annual Afterpay Australian Fashion Week – your outfit must champion a local designer.
But controversial influencer Jade Tuncdoruk appears to have shunned tradition, opting to wear a luxury French brand at day four of the prestigious fashion event on Thursday.
And the move hasn’t been well received, with one frustrated Aussie designer slamming the influencer for wearing the all Louis Vuitton outfit.
“Obviously everyone loves a high end label but at Fashion Week, where it is all about Australian designers, it is pretty average to promote an international brand,” an unidentified Sydney designer told The Daily Telegraph.
“She clearly hasn’t read the room. Of course you can wear international designers at Fashion Week but when you are an influencer and people are dressing you, it would be nice to support local,” the designer continued.
“Why not accessorise with a bag or shoe but wear an Australian designer?”
Jade was widely criticised at the start of the year for a racially insensitive rant about her Uber Eats delivery rider as well as a “tone deaf” brag after she leveraged her platform to make an Australian business give her a refund she wasn’t entitled to.
Her behaviour cost her several high-profile brand partnerships, with this latest incident being described as yet another “faux pas” for the struggling influencer.
Earlier in the day, she attended friend Sammy Robinson’s first ever fashion show for her label One Mile, wearing a white cut-out dress.
Model Erin Holland was also at the show – a milestone achievement for Sammy as the brand is only two-years-old – wearing a green cut-out gown from Nocturne Australia.
Later in the day, model Imogen Anthony made an appearance at the Dyspnea event wearing a showstopping ensemble.
The former partner of radio host Kyle Sandilands rocked a leather gimp mask alongside her neon pink slip dress with billowing sleeves.
She finished the look with leather pants and pointed black heels.
Former MAFS star Jules Robinson was also at day four of the fashion event, attending Australia’s first ever plus size fashion show in Australia, hosted by the Curve Edit.
The mum-of-one stunned in a red velvet jumpsuit from her own label, MOIRA MUSE.
She finished her ensemble with a pair of orange heels and wore her flame red hair loosely over her shoulders.
Friday is the final day of events with shows from Nadia Bartel’s brand, Henne, as well as L’IDEE Woman and a closing First Nations Fashion show.
