Afterpay Australian Fashion Week: Sydney designer adds X-rated item to new collection

A Sydney designer took things to a whole new level after she ditched jewellery and replaced it with an unexpected item.

When you think of a runway, the last thing that comes to mind is sex toys.

But at this year’s Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, one Sydney-based designer took things to a whole new level with her latest collection, Oasis Resort 23.

Karla Spetic spiced things up for spectators, replacing jewellery with sexual wellness toys.

“My main objective in partnering with Lovehoney is to empower and build women’s confidence through fashion and pleasure,” Karla said on the sex accessories.

But instead of jewellery, the designer accessorised her latest collection with sexual wellness toys, with one model branding her vibrator ‘ring’ as ‘iconic’. Picture: Getty

“The Lovehoney product range available is aesthetically aligned with both shapes and colours of our new Oasis SS23 collection and I’m super excited.”

Models wore the Lovehoney Tease Finger Vibrator and Fifty Shades of Grey Sensation Rechargeable Finger Vibrator as rings, while some models swapped clutches for the brands Glow Up Rechargeable Bullet vibrators.

One model who was wearing a sheer, green jumpsuit, took to her Instagram to share a close up snap of her matching $24.95 “ring”, describing it as “iconic”.

Meanwhile, a model wearing a long sleeve black and white top and matching patterned pants subtly flashing the $64.95 black, rechargeable vibrator on her finger.

It’s been all about the glitz, glamour and wild looks at this year’s Fashion Week held at Sydney’s Carriageworks.

Imogen Anthony, former girlfriend of radio host Kyle Sandilands, turned heads in her unusual outfit made up of a bra, corset and unbuttoned jeans on day two of the popular event.

While fellow model Mimi Elashiry also left fans in awe in a racy design after she attended an AFW dinner on Tuesday to celebrate designer Paco Rabanne.

The 26-year-old shared snaps of her revealing $3055 Maison Margiela black lace dress with her 1.2 million Instagram followers.

She wore the see-through dress over a black bra and G-string.

Her lingerie set was from Melbourne-based brand Hopeless Lingerie, known for its “dark, modern, romantic” garments.
