Block stars Luke and Josh Packham claim producers faked storyline

Controversial Block stars Josh and Luke Packham have lashed out at producers, claiming one of the show’s big dramas was fake.

Tanya and Vito accused of breaking rules again on site

The Block’s resident rulebreakers have unleashed on social media about their portrayal on the show, claiming producers fabricated one of this week’s storylines.

Former Love Island stars Josh and Luke Packham were embroiled in another drama over their building site during Wednesday night’s episode, being forced to take down ‘screens’ around their game-changing indoor-outdoor bathroom.

Delivering the blow to the boys, host Scott Cam explained that while their plans had indicated there would be privacy screens around their outdoor bathtub, the finished product included pony walls locked into the ground (though not reaching the ceiling), technically defining the space as a whole separate bathroom.

Given the area was not waterproofed, it was deemed non-compliant.

After winning the week with their indoor-outdoor bathroom design, Luke and Josh have been forced to dismantle the non-compliant walls.

However, according to the fiery reality stars, their builders had actually been granted approval to erect a blueboard structure rather than a screen, which the show failed to mention.

Josh and Luke say their builders were given approval for the walls.

“OK, I just want to be very clear,” Josh said in an Instagram Story on Wednesday night while watching the scene in which Luke appeared to take the advice on the chin.

“Luke was being passive because you just know there’s no point going against the story that they’re trying to portray.

“My builders, who have 30 years’ experience and are extremely intelligent, asked the question if we could change from a screen to a blueboard and it was approved.

“This is just a massive cover-up; it’s not fair to my builders at all. I won’t have their name dragged through the mud,” he said.

During the episode, head Block builder Aiden scolded the boys for allegedly changing the plans without permission.

“That’s not a screen. I told Keith that we’d had a chat so we were all good, so somewhere between that, we’ve gone from having screens to having walls,” he said.

Elsewhere, foreman Dan added of their builders: “Just for future mate, tell the boys not to go behind our backs so this won’t happen.”

Luke was particularly disappointed about the news.

Luke was close to crying over the stressful situation, telling producers several times that he was “very upset” about having to dismantle the walls.

“Luke’s basically saying it’s not our fault, and it wasn’t, because our builders asked for approval and they gave them the approval.

“However, the show of course have not given that background information so we’re just made to look like we’re complaining about something and whingeing, when that’s not the case at all.”

It comes after Luke and Josh actually won master ensuite week with their design on Sunday, but were pipped at the post by Ronnie and Georgia, who used their bonus point Gnome to win by half a point.

Weighing in on the screen saga from the sideline on Wednesday, fellow contestant Georgia offered: “Based on previous seasons, if you’ve constructed something that doesn’t meet code, you’re deducted points because it’s illegal and it’s faulty.”

Cam made no indication the boys would be penalised for their bathroom mishap, having already dished their team a deduction of two points this season over the leaked production schedule palaver.
