The Block’s cheating scandal reached a crescendo on Wednesday night with a vicious slanging match to rival a MAFS dinner party — and viewers have demanded serious action be taken.

Closing a tense body corporate meeting about pool excavation, twins Josh and Luke and married couple Mitch and Mark erupted in a bout of name-calling and accusations, including a brutal comment about one contestant’s drinking habits.

But it was a comment from Block ‘cheater’ Tanya that caused tempers to really explode.

It comes after Tanya came clean as the culprit behind the photo of the Block’s top-secret production schedule, doing the rounds early in the episode to explain herself and apologise.

Mitch and Mark, however, were left with a bitter taste on learning that Luke had asked Tanya to send him the photo in question so he could cheat.

The ill feelings were finally laid bare the explosive meeting, the culmination of a week of high tensions on site.

“I’m going to try my best not to play dirty, because my nasty side is 10 times worse than their nasty side, and they don’t want to see my nasty side,” Luke had warned to the camera before the gathering, sensing Mitch and Mark had more to say.

As Tanya’s apology rounds and the brutal body corporate argument aired, viewers were furious, calling for the teams to be dropped from the competition.

Others were just living for the drama.

Block fans waiting for the cheaters to face some repercussions won’t have to wait too much longer, with the show teasing that Cam will finally dole out some form of punishment during this Sunday’s basement reveal episode.

An explosive body corporate meeting

“As we were discussing last night, we would all like to begin excavation for pools before it becomes exceptionally difficult,” Josh began.

Asking for clarification on the request before casting their vote, Mitch and Mark became the target of the boys’ angst over the still-fresh cheating scandal.

“Just be clear,” said Mitch as the boys accused them of being passive aggressive.

Josh was quick to lash out at Mitch during the meeting.

“If you’ve got personal problems mate we’ll discuss it outside of body corporate,” Josh said, to which Mark responded: “I just want to understand the proposal.”

Josh then accused the couple of being “passive aggressive”.

“How dare you,” seethed Mitch.

Eventually, Mitch and Josh were exchanging barbs.

“Oh, go for your ‘how dare you’ as much as you want, Mitch, I don’t care what you have to say. You guys tried to diminish our character early by saying we’re party boys and we’re not taking this seriously. We’ve beaten you guys two out of three weeks,” said Josh.

“For three weeks you had a schedule … I accused you of being party boys? Well, correct me where I’m wrong,” Mitch retorted.

“You’re a party boy as well Mitch – you drink more than anybody here,” Josh said, to gasps from the other contestants.

“We’ll see how you go on auction day then you might be eating your words … that would make you look really bad as a professional if you lose to two party boys who aren’t taking this seriously,” he added.

“You disgusting, ignorant young piece of filth,” Mitch spat.

“You’re a two-faced bitchy grandpa and a rude rich snob,” Josh said, as Mitch returned serve with “You are an entitled piece of trash.”

Stepping in to defend the twins amid the escalating argument, Tanya put to Josh: “Do you know what I say? I say don’t fight with pigs because you get dirty and they love it.”

Mitch stormed off muttering that Tanya was a “piece of crap” for seemingly referring to him as a “pig”.

Tearing off in the opposite direction, Luke fumed to the camera: “Get me out of here, I don’t want to be around those pi- … those two. I’m sick of them. Can I please have some time away from the camera please?”

Returning to the scene of the body corporate, he bellowed: “Get out … Before I lose it!”

Tanya explains her “pigs’ insult

“I know a lot of people got offended by that and it’s so funny,” said Tanya of the “ripper one-liner” when she dubbed some of her fellow contestants “pigs.”

“I find it so funny how a lot of the Faves got really offended by my analogy when we’re all calling each other a see you next Tuesday and a bunch of other words. I found my analogy actually kinda accurate. Someone’s gotta say pipe down and stop carrying on.”

She said despite the volatile scenes, the teams eventually manage to make up. She also defended the strong emotions portrayed in the body corporate meeting.

“When people push your buttons you can’t always be a little ray of sunshine. I think that everybody has a right to express their feelings in their own way,” she said.

‘Biggest cheating scandal in TV history’

The meeting comes amid a wild week on The Block, first kicking off on Sunday night, when it was discovered Luke had seen a photo of The Block’s top-secret production schedule.

In Tuesday’s episode, Tanya and Vito finally came forward to address their involvement in circulating the photo, with incriminating hidden camera footage hinting she and Vito knew much more than they were letting on.

In a new twist, Tanya told news.com.au she was not the one to take the snap, but saw the schedule on the whiteboard – as did the rest of the cast, suggesting she was “set up” by production.

“Most of us came by [the schedule] because it was right by the toilet, it was right there on a massive board.

“It felt almost like it could have been set up,” she said.
