The Block stars Ronnie and Georgia’s bombshell new allegation

The Block contestants Ronnie and Georgia have made a bombshell new claim overnight that could turn the show’s cheating scandal on its head.

There has been a surprising development in The Block cheating scandal overnight, with contestants Ronnie and Georgia claiming they alerted the show’s producers to the rule breach back in week one.

The “biggest cheating scandal in Block history” didn’t come to light until the end of the show’s fourth week, when Ronnie expressed his frustration after twins Josh and Luke’s master bedroom win.

“It’s amazing they know exactly the full schedule of what rooms are coming up. I guess it helps to cheat,” he told the cameras.

“Really? You think they’ve found out some way?” a producer was heard asking, as a visibly uncomfortable Georgia begged her husband not to “go there”.

“They’ve known from day one. I don’t ‘think’, I know for a fact,” Ronnie told the producer.

From there, the scandal erupted, as it emerged two teams – Luke and Josh, and Tanya and Vito – had seen and circulated a photo of The Block’s top-secret production schedule, allowing them to plan their rooms ahead.

Tensions came to a head in Wednesday’s episode as the teams hurled insults at each other during a furious body corporate meeting.

But now, amid questions from viewers about what Ronnie and Georgia knew and when they knew it, the All-Star couple claim they alerted producers to the scandal weeks before it played out on screen.

“TO CLARIFY – yes, we saw the photo of the production board in Week One for about three seconds and informed producers what had just happened literally five minutes later,” the couple wrote on their Instagram Stories as last night’s episode aired.

“We weren’t keen to call it out on camera because we honestly wanted to avoid the drama this season. Cut to three weeks later … we’re highly irritated with the master bedroom scores, knowing the teams were effectively cheating and winning – that’s when the Rondog volcano erupted and the photo scandal was shared on camera … and well, here we now are … right in the thick of all the drama, exactly where we didn’t want to be,” they wrote.

News.com.au has this morning asked Channel 9 about Ronnie and Georgia’s claim they told producers about the existence of the photo in week one.

It comes after several explosive interviews about the scandal in recent days: A defiant Tanya, who has admitted to being the first contestant in possession of the photo and sending it on to Luke, told news.com.au in an interview published yesterday that the production schedule was actually placed in full view of contestants and claimed she may have been “set up”.

And furious Block host Scott Cam told Fitzy and Wippa yesterday that he was “scrambling” to salvage the show’s reputation as the scandal threatened to engulf it.

“I am scrambling to save this series, that’s what I’m doing, because people at home will be going ‘this whole thing is not fair, this whole thing is a joke’. So I’m scrambling to save my show because of what they have done,” he said.

Block fans waiting for the cheaters to face some repercussions won’t have to wait too much longer, with the show teasing that Cam will finally dole out some form of punishment during this Sunday’s basement reveal episode.
