HARRY DISHES OUT THE HUGS

India Brown reminds us there are no silly questions. The 19-year-old asked the royal “Can I please have a hug?”, and while it’s against protocol, she got one anyway.

“He hugged me and I burst into tears,” she said.

“He just said: ‘Oh you’re going to get me in trouble’”

It might have had something to do with her sign: “Been here since 4am, loved u since I was 8.”

Ms Brown, originally from country Victoria but who grew up in Singapore, said her admiration for Prince Harry even inspired her to take up polo.

Harry and Meghan greeted by crowds in Melbourne at Government House

NO, THIS IS A FOOTY

Harry had a long chat with two women playing AFL, on the lawns of Government House to promote the “This Girl Can” program, but while he handled the football, he didn’t appear game to test out his skills.

But Meghan did join in with a handball and appeared quite natural, even though she wasn’t necessarily dressed for sport.

BUDDING FASHIONISTA

Does a gold-painted dinosaur pasta necklace go with a navy Dion Lee dress? You better believe it does.

Meghan made it work, donning this sweet gift from young Melbourne boy Gavin. Soon we’ll all be wearing them.

ANIMALS GALORE

Dad-to-be Prince Harry may need to work on his naming technique before the big day next year after a practice run on a snail.

During the couple’s visit to Albert Park Primary School, schoolgirls Chloe and Daisy showed off their catch — a snail — and asked the royal couple to name the slimy creature.

“I think I’ll leave it to Harry,” the Duchess told the students.

“I think Speedy,” the Duke told the delighted girls.

Earlier, Meghan made time to pat a labrador at Government House — a long-time dog lover, the Duchess had her beagle Guy moved to the UK last year. The couple reportedly also adopted a black labrador last month.

A QUICK CHANGE

The first dress crashed Australian designer Dion Lee’s website this morning, but the stylish navy number was swapped for a Club Monaco black dress and flats before the couple’s school, and later beach, visit.
