Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Melbourne for royal tour

THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex ticked off a few Melbourne icons on their whirlwind tour of our city, trying some native Australian food, a spot of footy and a tram ride to the beach. From tearful hugs to sweet gifts, this was their day as it happened. RE-LIVE THEIR VISIT.

HARRY and Meghan won thousands of hearts on Thursday in a fun-filled day of royal celebration in Melbourne.

They arrived to cheering crowds at every stop, from Government House this morning to South Melbourne beach in the afternoon.

The couple greeted royal fans on Government House Drive, before moving on to Charcoal Lane in Fitzroy for a ‘touch, taste, smell’ hands-on tour of native ingredients. Excited school children at Albert Park Primary School welcomed the royals, before they headed to South Melbourne beach via tram to meet volunteers from a beach clean-up program.
