To borrow a line from the Australian Crawl classic Hoochie Gucci Fiorucci Mama, it’s “a back beach in the summer, chalet for the snow”, for some of the lucky kids of Victoria’s cashed-up sporting stars and their influencer wives — who enjoy the sorts of epic holidays and home livesmost of us can only dream about.
From the Med in Europe, luxury resorts in the Pacific and the beaches of Mexico, to the eye-wateringly expensive ski fields of Whistler in Canada — some of these kids have had their passports stamped with exotic locations.
Many also enjoy epic lives at home — with some living on the coast and others on farms, with plenty of room to run, explore and play.
For some kids it’s neat hair and designer duds, while others are encouraged to leave their locks long and unbrushed, and get their hand-me-downs dirty.
Here are nine famous families with kids we could possibly envy for their travels and their fortunate lives.
Joey Selwood
The long-awaited, much-loved baby boy of former Cats star Joel Selwood and his beautiful wife Brit has already holidayed in The South of France, on the stunning Côte d’Azur. He’s travelled to Provence and Spain, and dipped his little toes in the warm waters of Saint-Tropez.
Oscar, Billie, Darcy and Tom Judd
The four children of ex-AFL star Chris Judd and his influencer wife, Bec, live a charmed existence, with holidays to luxury overseas ski resorts including Whistler, in Canada, among their travels. Skiing from a luxe chalet house in Mount Buller is just par for the course in winter, while beach holidays in Byron Bay and houseboats on the Murray River are enjoyed in summer. Typically immaculately dressed and groomed, the Judd kids call a multimillion-dollar pad in Brighton home and have recently welcomed a gorgeous, purebred Rhodesian ridgeback puppy called Snoop to their family.
Nicholas and Maia Philippoussis
Aussie tennis legend Mark Philippoussis and his Romanian-born model wife, Silvana, have treated their son, Nicholas, and daughter, Maia, to holidays to remember, including to the ocean-front, high-end Chileno Bay resort in Cabo, Mexico, which they refer to as their “home away from home”. When not travelling they call Victoria’s Surf Coast home.
Aston and Henley Bartel
The influencer ex-wife of Cats star Jimmy Bartel, Nadia often travels without her kids in tow, but not always. And when they are treated to beach getaways with their influencer mum, they’re the sort of holidays little boys’ dreams are made of, with sun, surf, pools and ice-cream. On what could be a possible downside for two rough and tumble boys, however, Aston and Henley have been styled in designer duds for their mum’s photo shoots and social media pretty much since birth.
Darcy and Jax Pendlebury
Collingwood star Scott Pendlebury and his stunning wife, Alex, recently treated their son and daughter to a stay in tropical paradise at Fiji’s luxury Marriott Resort in Momi Bay — where the children swam in the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Pacific.
The also stayed at the stunning Six Senses Fiji, located on Malolo Island.
George, Felicity and Winnifred Dangerfield
The three kids of Geelong great Patrick Dangerfield and his wife Mardi live a wild coastal life that most kids would love — exploring and playing outdoors, swimming in the ocean near their Surf Coast home, helping their dad fix tools and lures in the shed, and, of course, boating and fishing.
Less luxury travellers and more rugged camping types, the Dangerfield family recently treated the kids to a road trip in a caravan — not in any old van mind you, this vehicle had all the bells and whistles a family of five could wish for.
Harper, Mackenzie and Parker Cotchin
Recently retired Richmond captain Trent Cotchin and his lifestyle influencer wife, Brooke, enjoy typical Australian holidays on the river with their knockabout kids, but also some in tropical paradises.
Arabella, Primrose and Henry Frederick Hawkins
With all the benefits of farm life, the three immaculately country-styled children of Cats star Tom Hawkins and his influencer wife, Emma, certainly don’t miss out in the fun or fashion stakes. They also get to see more of the world than just their rural property.
Mila and Chloe Viney
Melbourne Football Club star Jack Viney and his influencer wife, Charlotte, are the lucky recipients of baby and toddler gifts that make their children’s lives comfortable from day dot. Charlotte’s Instagram shows baby Chloe in snazzy “gifted” highchairs, prams and papooses.
