Melbourne influencer Bec Judd melted down on the Amazing Race on Wednesday night, as she watched “big, black hairy tarantulas” being deep fried in a Cambodian hut.

Bec, who has previously said she needed professional help to overcome her spider phobia, was forced to face huge tarantulas, being cooked up for a meal.

“It was awful, one of the most awful moments of my life. I’ve never been so close in my life to a spider that big,” she says to the camera and her sister, Kate Twigley.

“Was it alive when they put him in?” Bec asked, to which her race partner Kate replied it had “all soft legs (when it went in the pot) but they’re stiffening up”.

“I’m out, bye,” said Bec. “I think most people have fears — I have that at a really pronounced level with spiders, especially big ones … and they’re black and they’re massive. I think we take a time penalty, can’t do it, I can’t even be in the vicinity.”

Despite arriving at the checkpoint in third place, Bec and Kate were forced to wait an hour, which resulted in them checking in last and being eliminated from the competition.

Earlier this year Bec shared a post on Instagram, asking her 761,000 followers for advice on using a hypnotist for a phobia, and whether their experience was useful.

“Random from me. Have you used a hypnotist for a phobia and did it work?” she asked.

She then revealed the reason for her question stemmed from a fear of spiders.

If she had ever seen a spider on her car bonnet while driving, she would crash, she admitted.

“So I think it’s time for some proper help.”
