The APS 2022-23 cricket season featured some exciting individual performances.
From breakout moments to consistent stardom, the campaign was filled with brilliance.
Geelong Grammar came out as premiers while other teams achieved amazing results to keep the season entertaining week in, week out.
Here’s the top 30 performers.
Jeremy A’Beckett (Melbourne Grammar)
23 wickets, 6-35 best bowling, 13.74 average
A’Beckett was one of three bowlers in the competition to take a six-fa this season. He achieved the feat against Scotch in Round 10. He also took a wicket in every game except for one.

16 wickets 4-14 best bowling, 16.81 average

Ollie Entwisle (Wesley College)
13 wickets, 3-21 best bowling, 19.54 average
154 runs, 41 highest score, 15.40 average
Lachlan Francis (Scotch College)
18 wickets, 4-34 best bowling, 20.33 average
Francis’ best figures of 4-34 came against Carey in Round 6. The Scotch captain also took three-fa in Round 4 and 8.
Harry Jones (Scotch College)
18 wickets, 3-43 best bowling, 16.89 average
132 runs, 58* highest score, 26.40 average
Jones was a consistent contributor with the ball this season, taking a wicket in every match. He picked up two three-fa’s which came against Geelong College and Haileybury. With the bat, his unbeaten half century of 58 came against Carey Grammar. Jones represented Rovers United Bruck in senior club cricket and St Kilda in the Under-17 Dowling Shield as well this season.
Max Kondogiannis (Carey Grammar)
9 wickets, 2-12 best bowling, 21 average
124 runs, 31 highest score, 20.67 average
Samuel Lalor (Geelong Grammar)
297 runs, 79 highest score, 49.5 average

Charlie Larsen (Geelong College)
333 runs, 70 highest score, 30.27 average
Josh Lindsay (Geelong Grammar)
15 wickets, 4-40 best bowling, average 16.13
Henry Melville (Geelong Grammar)
308 runs, 107* highest score, 61.6 average
The Geelong Grammar skipper led his side to their first cricket premiership since 2014. He led the way in his side’s start to the season with two match-winning centuries. Melville also plays for Geelong in premier cricket.
Freddie Newing (Melbourne Grammar)
322 runs, 90 high score, 46 average
Will Oliver (Melbourne Grammar)
352 runs, 127* highest score, 58.67 average
The Melbourne Grammar skipper notched two half centuries and two hundreds for the campaign. His hundreds came against Xavier and Geelong College.

Tom Patterson (Geelong College)
363 runs, 127* highest score, 40.22 average
Patterson put together an impressive season with Geelong College where he scored more than 40 runs on three occasions. He also made an unbeaten century against Melbourne Grammar. On top of school cricket, the wicketkeeper represented Barwon Rockets in the Under-16 Youth Premier League and Newtown and Chilwell in Geelong Cricket Association.
Cooper Rojko (Brighton Grammar)
358 runs, 90* highest score, 39.78 average
An unbeaten 90 against Caulfield was Rojko’s highest score for the season. The Under-17 St Kilda Dowling Shield cricketer notched three half centuries for the campaign. Rojko also represented for Glen Iris this summer.
Moe Spencer (Brighton Grammar)
352 runs, 81 highest score, 39.11 average
Spencer notched his highest score for the season against Haileybury in Round 2. The Brighton wicketkeeper and captain also represented St Kilda in the Fourth XI in premier cricket and played in the club’s Under-17 Dowling Shield side.
Harry Sullivan (Caulfield Grammar)
17 wickets, 4-18 best bowling, 18.82 average
Sullivan took a wicket in every game except for one this APS campaign. He snared his best figures in Round 8 against Geelong Grammar. Sullivan also represented Gold Coast in the Lord’s Taverners competition.
Nicholas Tindall (Haileybury College)
19 wickets, 4-20 best bowling, 16.79 average
105 runs, 39* highest score, 17.5 average
Tindall took two four-fa’s this season. His 4-20 came against Geelong College in Round 5. His top score came against St Kevin’s in Round 10. Tindall also represented Kingston Hawthorn in premier cricket this season.
Oliver Warburton (Caulfield Grammar)
16 wickets, 4-29 best bowling, 12.88 average
Benjamin Wickham (Xavier College)
347 runs, 101* highest score, 49.57 average
Ed Winneke (Scotch College)
314 runs, 67 highest score, 34.89 average

10. JEZ RIGONI (Caulfield Grammar)
420 runs, 119* highest score, 46.67 average
10 wickets, 3-43 best bowling, 40 average.
The all-rounder scored three fifties and a century for the campaign. His unbeaten hundred came against St Kevin’s in Round 7. Rigoni also played for Camberwell Magpies in premier cricket this season.
9. XAVIER AUSTIN (Xavier College)
18 wickets, 5-62 best bowling, 20.94 average
220 runs, 65 highest score, 24.44 average
Austin snared a five-fa against Wesley in Round 9. He took two wickets on five occasions as well. With the bat, Austin scored two half centuries including a top score of 65 against Geelong College in Round 11. Austin represented Bendigo United in club cricket as well this summer.
8. JOSEPH KLOTZ (Carey Grammar)
315 runs, 51 highest score, 31.5 average
15 wickets, 3-17 best bowling, 19 average
Klotz was consistent with both bat and ball this campaign. He top scored with 51 against Scotch in Round 6. And his best bowling figure of 3-17 came against St Kevin’s in Round 9.
7. TED BAIN (Geelong College)
19 wickets, 6-44 best bowling, 27.47 average
242 runs, 91 highest score, 26.89 average
The all-rounder produced a top season for Geelong College. Bain’s six-fa came against Wesley in Round 10. His match-winning 91 against an undefeated Geelong Grammar came in Round 7. The knock played a major part in his side recording their first win of the season. It was a stunning performance which also saw the Under-16 Barwon Rockets representative take 2-61 in the same game.
6. WILL SCOTT (Wesley College)
389 runs, 124* highest score, 43.22 average
16 wickets, 3-5 best bowling, 17.31 average
Scott’s unbeaten century came against Haileybury in Round 3. He also took 2-21 in that game. His best bowling performance came the week after against St Kevin’s where he took 3-5. Scott also represented Prahran in the Under-17 Dowling Shield this season and Elwood in club cricket.

5. MITCHELL KIRKWOOD-SCOTT (Haileybury College)
559 runs, 166 highest score, 62.11 average
Kirkwood-Scott scored the most hundreds of any APS player this season with three. The number four bat notched 166 against Caulfield in Round 6, 133 against Brighton in Round 2 and 104 against St Kevin’s in the second last round of the season. Kirkwood-Scott also represented Ormond in Second XI Subbies cricket this season. He also played for Prahran in their Under-17 Dowling Shield side.
4. JEREMY MURRAY (Brighton Grammar)
27 wickets, 6-22 best bowling, 8.93 average
Murray produced the best bowling performance of the season with 6-22 against Caulfield in Round 10. He took another five-fa in Round 1 and also took four wickets on two occasions. The Melbourne Under-17 Dowling Shield cricketer was a standout with the ball this season with the most wickets in the competition.

3. SAMUEL MAZZA (St Kevin’s College)
558 runs, 186 highest score, 50.73 average
8 wickets, 3-30 best bowling, 14.63 average
Mazza was one of the most consistent performers this season with the equal most half centuries in the competition. The Camberwell Magpies premier cricketer passed the 50-mark on four occasions. He also hit a century against Caulfield which was described as one of the “best innings ever.”

2. THOMAS WRIGGLESWORTH (Caulfield Grammar)
484 runs, 104 highest score, 40.33 average
17 wickets, 4-32 best bowling, 20.06 average
Despite batting at number three for most of the season, Wrigglesworth notched his hundred in the game he batted at number four. It was against Carey Grammar in Round 5 where he also took 1-9 off nine overs as well. He took a wicket in every game except for one in the campaign. The Melbourne premier cricketer scored more than 18 runs in every game except for two proving his consistent contributions throughout the season.

1. OLIVER PEAKE (Geelong Grammar)
542 runs, 106* highest score, 77.43 average
26 wickets, 5-15 best bowling, 17.65 average
Peake produced an outstanding season with both bat and ball to make himself the best performer in the competition this season. The year 11 scored the third most runs and took the second most wickets. He scored the equal most half centuries at four and took the equal most five-wicket hauls at two. He also took four-fa twice with his off-spin and made two hundreds. It is clear Peake played a major part in his side’s premiership triumph. Peake also represented Victoria in Under-17 and Under-19’s this season as well as Geelong in premier cricket.
