Suspicious fires at Fifth Ave, Rosebud house after burglary

A ROSEBUD home has been torched twice in the days after it was burgled, sparking a police investigation.
About 11pm on October 7, two men were seen forcing their way into the unoccupied Fifth Ave house.

It’s not known what, if anything, was stolen.
One alleged thief is described as being of Maori appearance, and bald.
A small fire was then started outside the house, but only minor damage was done to the property as a result.
Now, police have revealed two successive fires have ravaged the home in the wake of the burglary.

The first occurred about 10.30pm on October 10.
The second was set in the bedroom of the house three days later about 10am, with a neighbour seeing smoke coming from the address and subsequently calling the CFA.
The fires have been deemed suspicious and Mornington Peninsula CIU is investigating.
