A MASKED bandit is on the run after trying to punch a commuter through his car window in a frightening attempted robbery in Noble Park.

A man with his face covered forced a car to a stop and tried to attack the driver in a terrifying attempted robbery.
A 30-year-old man was driving home from Noble Park train station when he was cut off by an orange Toyota Aurion about 6am on July 11.
Dandenong crime investigation unit Senior Constable Chris Ryan said the masked thug jumped out of the Aurion and tried to hit the man through his open car window.

He said the would-be robber demanded money from the frightened driver but was spooked by a passing police patrol and took off in the Toyota with three or four others.
The incident happened at the corner of Heatherton and Fintonia roads, Noble Park, where the crooks were last seen speeding off in their orange car.
Sen-Constable Ryan said nothing was stolen and the driver wasn’t injured in the attack.
