A 22-year-old man has been slapped with a two-year good behaviour bond after he petrol-bombed his grandmother’s car amid a family dispute.
Raymond Lord, 22, was sentenced in the County Court on October 3 after he previously pleaded guilty to one charge of arson.
The court heard Lord broke into a car belonging to his grandmother, Janette Arbour, on November 7 2017, and set it on fire. His partner Emily Wilson was with him at the time.

Lord handed himself into Maroondah detectives later that month and said in his interview his mother promised him a “treat” of $1000 if he torched the car.
He told police his mother had been evicted by his grandmother and wanted revenge.
She gave him instructions on how to set the car on fire, which caused damage to another vehicle, a carport and also significant smoke and water damage to his grandmother’s unit.
Lord told police he was upset about his mother’s mental health, and thought he would be left alone if he followed her request.
The court heard Lord was also was suffering from mental health issues at the time, and attended a psychiatric ward at Maroondah Hospital two days before he torched the car.
Judge Irene Lawson told Lord he understood what he did was wrong and that he “intended to set fire to the car but did not intend for the flames to spread”.
“You were very vulnerable at the time and as a consequence your judgment was impaired and that to a large extent does explain your conduct on this occasion,” she said.
Judge Lawson sentenced Lord to a two-year good behaviour bond and ordered he pay $1000 compensation for the vehicle.
Lord’s mother and Ms Wilson are set to face court for their roles in the incident next year.
