Ice cream fans rejoice — one of your favourite shops is in a scoop-tastic mood and giving out free cones this time next week.

Much-loved US chain Ben and Jerry’s is bringing back its annual Free Cone Day on April 9.

And their Melbourne stores outside Hoyts Cinemas at Ringwood’s Eastland, Chadstone and Greensborough are joining in the fun, as is its store in Flinders Lane in the CBD.

It’s not limited to just one flavour — you can pick any in store on the day.

That means you can indulge in brownie batter, salted caramel blondie, choc chip cookie dough, or even the chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel mash-up “The Tonight Dough” , which was created for The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

Ben and Jerry’s is tipped to give out more than 120,000 free scoops across Australia on the day.

Ben and Jerry’s chief executive Matthew McCarthy said: “This is one of our favourite days of the year and it’s a special tradition to say ‘thank you’ to our fans,”

“We can’t wait to see all the smiles and happiness Free Cone Day brings this year.”

To get your sweet fix, head down to Ben and Jerry’s from noon to 8pm on Tuesday and join the line.

Take our advice — the lines were long last year, so plan ahead and pick a good time to grab your cone.

If you’re going to any of the Hoyts stores, you don’t have to buy a movie ticket to get your free scoop. But if you were heading to the flicks anyway, your snacks are sorted.
