A GIANT slice of Italy has arrived in Epping.
After years of devouring metre long slices of pizza on Lygon St, The Groove Train Epping owner and director Gino Perrone is bringing pizza by the metre to the outer north.

Mr Perrone said he decided to add $65 pizza by the meter to his already extensive menu because he wanted to “offer something new and fresh to Epping”.
“A lot of customers had been saying they were driving to Lygon St to have pizza by the metre and I thought, why can’t I do it?”
Trays to cook the huge pizzas on had been imported from Europe and serving boards had been made locally, Mr Perrone said.

The metre long pizzas were the equivalent of three and a half normal pizzas, he said.
“I took the challenge and I ate a whole one but it took me a couple of hours,” he laughed.
He expected the pizzas, which came in flavours ranging from classic margherita to a vegan option and a barbecue meatlover, would be popular with large groups.
The pizzas will be offered exclusively at The Groove Train Epping but could be rolled out at other stores.
