A food truck festival will pack a fusion punch when it opens in Melbourne’s north this week, dishing up feta-filled souvlaki, butter chicken with chips and much more.
After a successful first year in 2017, the festival will return to Mernda Recreation Reserve this week, dishing up everything from feta-filled souvlaki to butter chicken curry with chips.
Mafia-inspired fried chicken experts Wingsters will debut their new menu featuring crispy fried chicken and a fresh tangy salad at the five-day festival.
Food Truck Festival director Frank Rusitovski said the team was “extremely excited” to return to Mernda.
“This year we focused on trucks that offer fusion food and new cuisines, ranging from Portuguese tarts, authentic butter chicken and better than Nonna’s authentic Italian food,” Mr Rusitovski said.
“As well as focusing on food, we are bringing more activities to the festival, such as giant lawn games, soccer stars and our shipping container activation.”
The free event will be open from 5pm to 10pm on November 14 and 15 and 11am to 10pm on November 16 to 18.
