Malvern’s Healing Hands Massage parlour proscribed by a court as illegal brothel offering sex services

A court has called out an illegal brothel in Malvern, after an undercover police sting revealed what was really going on at Healing Hands Massage.

A Malvern massage parlour has been proscribed as an illegal brothel.

Cops are taking a hands-on approach to healing the scourge of illegal brothels, knocking out a Malvern massage parlour they found was providing sex services.

Healing Hands Massage was today proscribed by a court as a brothel, rendering it illegal to visit there for sexual reasons.

The sordid Station St sex den is now out of business after an undercover sting by vice cops found out they were offering way more than just massages.

At Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court this morning a police officer from the Sex Industry Co-ordination Unit applied for the proscription.

She told the court two officers sat in a car and waited outside on January 9, watching as a series of men went inside, and soon afterwards quickly left.

They decided to follow two men and stopped them for a quick chat.

They were asked what they were doing there, and when questioned they made “full admissions” to receiving “full services”.

The two anonymous men then made statements to the police.

Internet searches also found that the venue was being promoted on escort websites with provocative advertising as a way to lure in men looking for sex services.

Magistrate Jade Bott said there was enough information to grant the application, declaring the parlour a proscribed brothel for 12 months.

In effect, that shuts down the business, as it is unlikely there will be any customers prepared to risk prosecution by entering the premises.

The defendant, Ava Li, did not appear in court.

Healing Hands Massage is just one of a myriad of massage parlours offering sex services that have been recently shut down by the courts after police or council investigations.

Last September the same court shut down a nearby massage parlour acting as a brothel in Malvern East, on the same day they ended a sex site in Sandringham.

And in May, two sister sites in Noble Park and Dandenong came to anticlimactic finales after Dandenong Council investigations uncovered them acting as illegal brothels.
