The premier feature of a luxury Monash apartment complex will set it apart from other major eastern suburbs developments.

Developer Golden Age Group has released new images depicting in more detail what life in the Sky Garden complex will be like.

The three-building complex, which is under construction and will tower over The Glen shopping centre, features a podium garden that offers ultra-green relaxation time for future homeowners.

People calling the 19-storey main tower home, as well as those in the 11 and 12-storey secondary towers, will share access to the 4000sq m space.

An air rights deal struck earlier this year between Golden Age and The Glen also provides homeowners with a rare sense of security of their views.

Controversy surrounded the project when it was announced more than 12 months ago, with congestion a major concern according to Cr Lynette Saloumi.

But Golden Age responded in a statement at the time that it was “respectful of the area and its surroundings” when planning a new development.

The garden is the distinct feature setting the project apart from another three-building complex, Trio Box Hill, which also features three towers and a mix of uses but is topped off with luxury penthouses.

And Golden Age sales and marketing director Dandan Zhao said the company hopes the feature will prove popular as people wrestle with the idea of staying home more often.

“The podium provides a place for exercise and fresh air without having to leave the building,’’ Ms Zhao said.

“Before we were confined to our homes, this wasn’t viewed as a necessity but now it is.

“In addition, Sky Garden is near top performing schools and leading universities, which has seen a number of individuals purchase for their children studying in Australia.”

The project features one, two and three-bedroom units across three buildings and complement The Glen’s recently completed $430 million redevelopment.

The project will also include 613 parking spaces and 22,000sq m of glass facade.

A fully-equipped gym, a pool, a library, and two private function rooms with kitchens and BBQ facilities on the terrace are among the many other luxury features.
