Scott Kennedy: Melbourne man charged with murder over fatal 2019 assault
A Melbourne man has been charged over an alleged murder in Gippsland back in 2019.

A man has been charged with murder, three years after he allegedly assaulted his victim in Morwell.
Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit detectives charged, Scott Kennedy a 51-year-old man following the alleged fatal assault.
In October 2019 emergency services were called after a 44-year-old Morwell woman was located at her Sydney Street home with allegedly life threatening injuries just before midday.
It is alleged she was assaulted by Kennedy in the early hours of October 18.
She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died from her injuries on November 7 2019.
The 51-year-old man was arrested at his home in Oakleigh on Thursday morning and was charged with one count of murder.
He appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody, to reappear in the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court in December.
The investigation was conducted by Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit with assistance from the Homicide Squad.
