Hannah Anderson: Albury mum threatens child’s alleged abductor
An Albury woman says her “mother instinct” kicked when she hurled abuse and threatened her child’s alleged abductor as they applied for bail.

Albury mother Hannah Anderson was overwhelmed with emotion and “lost it” in court as her son’s alleged abductor applied for bail.
On September 22, while seated in the public gallery at Albury Local Court, Ms Anderson yelled “I’ll smash you” across the courtroom at the complainant who was sitting in the docks applying for bail.
The complainant called out “she just threatened me”.
Ms Anderson represented herself at Albury Local Court this week, after being charged with intimidation with the intent to cause fear or physical harm.
The 32-year-old apologised tothe court for her inappropriate behaviour.
“My apologies because I was rude and obnoxious,” she told the court.
“It was a slip of the tongue. I’m not usually like this.”
Ms Anderson said the complainant was making hand gestures at her from the docks which provoked her.
“It was mother instinct, I’m very angry about what happened to my child,” she said.
“I just lost it.
“My family and my children have been through hell.”
Magistrate Richard Funston took into account Ms Anderson’s complete lack of criminal history.
She was sentence to an 18 month conditional release order with no conviction recorded.
Ms Anderson wept as she thanked Magistrate Funston and left the courtroom.
