Mia Fevola, the ‘Mescia twins’ and more: Everyone who donned the Bondi Sands carpet

As a newbie to the socialite scene, tennis WAG Hannah Dal Sasso copped some serious side-eye from Mia Fevola after potentially outing her secret boyfriend.

When an invite for the global launch of a self-tanning lotion lobs in, one should ready themselves for a kaleidoscope of terracotta and tangerine.

But nothing could prepare for the bronzed onslaught to the eyes than the Bondi Sands Technocolor tan media wall at the Lume on Thursday night.

A sea of our sprayed and glazed babes of TikTok and fake-n-baked reality dudes bottlenecked at the entrance, hip and shouldering in their peekaboo cutouts and head-to-toe pleather, with diehard determination for their moment on the media wall.

No longer is an event, well, an event.

The media wall has become the star attraction. It’s the dinner and show.

So pass the popcorn.

First up were Melbourne’s “Mescia twins”, the genetically blessed TikTok stars with 2 million followers between them. High beaming onto the media wall with snatched ponytails and cinched matching body form metallic thigh scraping dresses, they twirled, pouted and posed with well-practised aplomb.

As the steady stream of guests kept churning through, it became increasingly hard to keep up.

They all looked so alarmingly alike. Kim Kardashian (cripes don’t mention Snooki) carbon copies. Each lapped up their moment wearing garments that looked like walking yeast infections. Fronting up for the camera, pulling poses none too dissimilar to the awkward actions you are asked to undertake while in the spray tanning booth. “Now turn around and stick your butt out.”

Next up was Hannah Dal Susso. Looking the goods, an industry insider remarked “this must be someone, I’m just not sure who.”

So we asked.

Dal Susso readily reminded us she was in fact the new girlfriend of our tennis favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis. The two had been, well almost, pictured together at the Grand Prix, with The Kokk shying away, saying it was still early days.

Back at our media wall and Dal Sasso said The Kokk was staying home that night and that she was out for the self-tan launch with her gal pals, including Mia Fevola.

Asked how she knew Fevola, things got a little confusing: “Our boyfriends are dating.”

Huh?

“I mean are boyfriends are besties…. We know each other through our boyfriends.” Alrighty.

After doing her own stint at the wall, Fevola rocked up to meet her girlfriends only to quickly say she was not in fact dating anyone special.

Huh?

A quick shady side-eye and it seemed our tennis WAG friend Hannah had spoken out of school.

Moving along.

Inside the actual event Bondi Sands founder and managing director Shaun Wilson paid tribute to the success story of their Melbourne brand which first launched in 2012 and now has global pull.

At the very same time a Los Angeles event and red carpet was being staged to launch the “self tan that’s more than skin deep”, what Wilson said was the first of its kind and formulated to suit varying skin tones.

Bondi Sands founder and managing director Shaun Wilson said it was the first time the brand had done a product launch in their home town.

Speaking from the Lume rooftop, Wilson told his skin deep disciples it was the first time Bondi Sands had done a product launch in their home town.

“People rightly assume that Bondi Sands is based in Sydney, or maybe Bondi,” Wilson said.

“But actually we are based in Port Melbourne. I tell those same people we could never really call it Port Melbourne Sands or St Kilda Tan, it doesn’t have the same global brand story telling. No disrespect.”

Luckily the tangerined, terracotta’d and the odd tinge of Oompa Loopa (doompa-de-doo can we say that anymore?) were all gifted bottles of the new Technicolor tan product to DIY at home.

Expect to read all about it at an Instagram post near you.
