MELBOURNE has a new favourite Neighbour with talented singer Bonnie Anderson joining the iconic TV drama.
Anderson, 22, who won Australia’s Got Talent as a mere 12-year-old in 2007, has signed a two-year deal with the show, her first major acting role, and will play the sister of Jodi Anasta’s character Elly Conway.
Best known as a singer, Anderson has been studying acting for eight years.

“Singing was always a part of me since I could walk and talk, as was entertaining,“ she said. ““When I was young I would always put on shows for my family. I had a wild imagination and that has never changed.
“My experience with acting until now had been like practising a game of footy over and over, and not actually getting to play the game until now.
“This is my first game.”
Anderson admitted growing up in the public eye after winning a national TV talent competition had its challenges.
“AGT really was my first moment in the public eye, and being such a young age it really taught me to hold my own and to find strength in anything life throws you,” she said.
“Growing up in the public has actually been fun and positive. I have certainly had my ups and downs and times of doubt. I’ve learnt a lot about the person I am and what I want out of life personally and career-wise.”
Anderson said while Neighbours was her priority, music was still her passion.
“I am someone who wears my heart on my sleeve and I want that to come through in my music and my acting and character,” she said.
“I never stop making music, I am always writing — on my breaks, in between filming and learning my lines. It never stops.
“I am more motivated than ever, to be honest. I’ve actually been in the studio a lot recently.”
