Former Carlton star Brendan Fevola has blown his stack at the self entitled behaviour of players in the AFL’s Queensland hub, saying they should get their heads “out of their arses.”
Fevola unleashed on the widely discussed diva-like behaviour of some players and partners who have reportedly made exhaustive requests to the AFL such as asking for a puppy, needing new mattresses, wanting the league to reimburse them for Coles online orders and requesting nannies.
“I don’t want to go stacks on the footballer players because I was one and it is tough because I don’t want to pot them and them not talk to me,” Fevola told his Fifi, Fev and Byron audience Friday.
“But some of these AFL players are absolutely kidding themselves.
“Some players have asked for support for babysitting because they are used to having a nanny, well you don’t need a babysitter because the fact is, you can’t go anywhere, so look after your kids, be parents, that is what parents do.”
Fevola said it was time for a reality check for the individuals who were complaining at the hub.
“Get your head out of your arses, play your footy, live with your family and have fun,” he said.
“Look at us in Melbourne. We can’t even leave our house after 8pm.
“You are very lucky to be doing what you are doing and we are very lucky to be watching what you are doing. Come on boys.”
Fevola acknowledged it was probably a handful of players being diva-like, but said they should enjoy the experience.
“I follow all the boys on Instagram, they have buffets every day; breakfast, lunch and dinner,” he said.
“They have pool tables and playstations. That is heaven for me. Put me in the hub.”
